Training the Next Generation of Leaders through Residency

We believe that the church has both an opportunity and responsibility to identify, equip, and send the next generation of pastoral leaders into gospel ministry.

We believe that while seminaries and graduate schools can provide a solid foundation in the classic theological disciplines, the local church is further suited to provide exposure to the realities of pastoral ministry and personal spiritual preparation.

Just as a teaching hospital provides its residents with further clinical training and the opportunity to practice their skills, so too Chapelstreet Church seeks to provide more intensive and intentional ministry experience in the context of the local body of believers.

Chapelstreet’s Pastoral Residency Program is a two-year process of learning, mentoring, and ministry experience for those called to some form of pastoral ministry and leadership.

Please note that we are unable to accept international students at this time.

Our Worship Residency is a two year hands on learning and equipping experience for college graduates interested in pursing worship ministry.

Who can apply to be a Worship Resident?

Any college graduate with a degree in music and worship or ministry (preferred) may apply for the Worship Resident Program. What are the elements of the Worship Resident Program and what will I learn?

The Worship Residency is a salaried role that will consist of joining in the weekly rhythms of worship ministry at Chapelstreet. This includes planning weekly worship services in coordination with campus worship leaders and pastors (as assigned), preparing for those services by creating chord charts, lyric slides etc…, assigning necessary volunteers as well as involvement in weekly worship band rehearsals.

The Residency will also include preliminary training in technical productions related to worship through a semi-regular rotation on our technical production teams.

In addition to the weekly rhythms of worship ministry, the Resident will dedicate time toward personal development in leadership, pastoral relationships and musical skill (vocal and instrumental).

Attendance at an annual worship conference is provided (Experience Conference).
