Deb Abbs

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

By God’s grace, we at InterVarsity long to see students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed and world changers developed. We plant and build witnessing communities of students and faculty who grow in lifelong love for God and learn to serve him in the world.

My area of focus is disability inclusion and Access InterVarsity safe spaces to reach, include and co-labor with the 19% of college undergrads who have a documented disability. I also coach, equip and encourage other InterVarsity campus ministers to do the same.

Isaac & Hannah Baldridge

One Collective, South Dakota

Isaac and Hannah’s vision is to see Kingdom impact in the Lakota community through the lives of children, youth, and their families on the North side of Rapid City. Currently, the Baldridge team is directing a youth program during the weekend alongside community members to provide 8-18 year olds a safe space to go where they will be encouraged to have fun, learn life skills, and develop their relationship with a mentor who, when the opportunity arises, will share the hope of Jesus with them in a way that relates to the struggles that they face in their everyday lives.

Rick & Sue Borman

One Collective, Ecuador

Rick and Sue Borman have served with One Collective since 1998. In 1999, they founded a camp ministry in the mountains of Ecuador called “El Refugio” (The Refuge) and have been involved in that ministry to date.

El Refugio is a training and retreat center that facilitates a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through nature and outdoor adventure. At El Refugio we have retreats with adventure programing, purposely structured to bring people’s attention to their spiritual need of Jesus Christ and to share with them the gospel of Jesus Christ, or to help them grow in their walk with Christ. We also have discipleship training programs designed to disciple people in their walk and service for our Lord and train them in camp ministry.

Rick and Sue live in Michigan at present and primarily work with: US Short term mission teams; interns and missionary staff recruiting; and fund raising for projects. Rick and Sue travel to Ecuador frequently, supporting the work of El Refugio and leading short term mission teams which are a vital part of the ministry in Ecuador.

Erik & Tammy Burklin

China Partner, China

China Partner exists to serve the church in China through the following strategies:

  • Training current and future church leaders with needed ministry tools.
  • Providing Christian literature to church leaders, churches, and ministry training centers.
  • Linking ministries and individuals outside China with churches in China, by educating about China’s culture, the Chinese church, and encouraging to partner with God’s mission in China.
  • Partnering with churches in China to reach the next generation.

Erik regularly travels to China organizing and teaching at pastoral training seminars, where Chinese pastors learn about evangelism, evangelistic preaching, pastoral care, Biblical leadership, discipleship, marriage & family and how to reach the next generation for Christ.

Erik & Tammy attended Chapelstreet Church in the late eighties serving in various leadership roles. Tammy served in the worship ministry while Erik lead a small group and ministered to the young people in Chapelstreet’s youth ministry.

Scott & Tan Coats

Thailand

Tan(formal name: Aphiwan) and Scott are jointly appointed missionaries of International Ministries and HOPE International Development Agency. From their home in Chiang Rai, Thailand, they support Thai nationals in their own ministries as they seek to impact the lives of the ethnic minority peoples who inhabit the hills of northern Thailand, the Eastern Shan State of Myanmar and neighboring countries. These partner organizations empower communities to organize for social, spiritual, and economic change.

Languages used in ministry: Thai, English and local languages including Burmese, Shan, Akha, Lahu and more.

Dillon & Aubrey

Movement Workers serving in SE Asia

Dillon and Aubrey are working alongside an English teaching ministry in Southeast Asia. Our goal is to make disciples and equip the saints for the work of ministry in their home context.
Please join us in prayer!

Anita Deyneka

Mission Eurasia, Russia

Anita grew up on a farm in Washington. After graduating from Seattle Pacific University, she served as a short term missionary with Overseas Radio and Television in Taiwan.

In the fall of 1967, she met Peter Deyneka, Jr., a missionary visiting her church, and they were married in June of 1968.

During the Communist years, Peter became the president of the Slavic Gospel Association, a mission his father had founded, and Anita served with him, primarily in writing and training, including teaching as an adjunct at Wheaton College Graduate School. The Deynekas traveled extensively during those Iron Curtain years in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. With the collapse of Communism in 1991, they retired from the Slavic Gospel Association and founded a new organization, Russian Ministries, primarily to serve as consultants to many new Western organizations entering the former Soviet Union. During the late 80s and through the 90s, Russian Ministries served more than 400 such ministries in varying degrees.

In December 2000, Peter died after a six-month struggle with lymphoma. In 2002, Anita was asked by the Russian Ministries board to serve as president of Russian Ministries, which she did until 2010. Anita continues to serve in a missionary capacity and as an emeritus board member with Russian Ministries (now known as Mission Eurasia) while also working with the organization, A Family For Every Orphan and The World Without Orphans movement.

Tim Geoffrion

Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries

Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries

My wife, Jill, and I co-founded Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries (FHGLM). I am the president and teaching minister (and the only full-time employee). More specifically, I teach semester-long courses at the Myanmar Institute of Theology for one semester every year (roughly October to March). In addition, I teach workshops, preach sermons, coach spiritual life, and provide guidance for theological students, pastors, professors, and other Christian leaders in various countries. Since inception, I have served in the Congo, Rwanda, France, Ukraine, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the United States. In addition, FHLGM extends into Pakistan through our written resources and coaching (one of my books has been translated into Urdu and is being distributed there now). My wife is no longer officially on staff, but still accompanies me and ministers with me on select mission trips during the year.

Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries

Dan Griebel

Young Life, Kane County

Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries

Young Life is a non-denominational, Christian, non-profit ministry that is committed to introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. Young Life staff and leaders are caring adults who strive to build positive relationships with teenagers. Through friendships as well as through club, Campaigners and camp, Young Life leaders get to know teens and gain their trust. Because of these relationships, leaders “earn the right to be heard” and can share the Gospel with their teenage friends.

In Kane County Young Life we believe that every kid has the right to hear about and respond to the message of Jesus. To that end we work with both high school and middle schoolers in Geneva and St. Charles as well as our ministry to incarcerated teens at the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles. In addition we are starting a brand new ministry to teens with disabilities called Capernaum. Contact Dan Griebel at any time to learn more and to find out how you can get involved!

Peter & Heather Hanson

Converge, Poland

Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries

The Hansons have been a part of Chapelstreet Church since Peter was in high school. Peter was an intern with Chapelstreet’s Leadership Institute for two years before coming on staff, where he served for five years as the videographer. Heather also interned with Leadership Institute in Communications.

The Hansons are called to celebrate God’s movement among least-reached peoples and inspire God’s people to engage in ministry in Europe and its surrounding areas.

They are working under Converge International Ministries to serve missionaries in the Europe and the Mediterranean Region through their media skills by creating communications plans and materials and traveling to the ministry locations to help share the local team’s vision and document their progress as God leads them in their ministries among least-reached people groups.

The Hansons work alongside a team of specialized leaders to care for, train, and lead missionaries on the field. In their roles, they capture footage of the region and interview the missionaries, church leaders, and local people for ministry updates, testimonies, and vision videos. These videos are used to help connect the missionaries to their partners and sending churches, and to encourage people to become more involved through giving, prayer, and long-term partnerships.

Tyler & Jordan Harju

One Collective, Ecuador

Tyler grew up attending Chapelstreet Church along with his parents and siblings. Although his sisters both went on short term mission trips to El Refugio in Ecuador, it was not until Tyler was 22 and participating in an outdoor discipleship program (LIFT) that he went himself. After completing the program, Tyler finished his undergraduate studies at Nyack College where he studied international relations and business.

Jordan grew up in upstate New York and after graduating from Furman University where she studied international relations and political science, she also participated in the LIFT program, a year before Tyler. It was the summer of 2017 when Tyler and Jordan were introduced through mutual friends in upstate New York while working at a Christian Conference Center. They served full-time in operations and in the LIFT program for 2.5 years. In the summer of 2019 they married and moved to teach school in Costa Rica.

During the COVID era of 2020, Tyler and Jordan began exploring the idea of moving to Ecuador to work with the discipleship program at El Refugio.

Similarly to LIFT, El Refugio utilizes the outdoors as an essential component in building community. The El Refugio discipleship program challenges the cultural norms, opens the minds of young adults and allows them to consider what path Jesus Christ has set before them.

The Harjus yearn for young adults to taste the richness of community striving towards the same goal, to experience time away from the constant and repetitive pulls of culture, and to fall deeper in love with Jesus Christ.

Paul & Ana Hill

Converge, Argentina

The Hill family ministers in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, where there is extreme poverty and lack of water and food for families. They are praying for a regular meeting place with a roof structure as the homes we meet in are too small, and the meetings and activities need to be held outdoors under the hot sun.

Many families are struggling to find water and to put food on the table. By the grace of God, the Hills were able to find a 700 gallon tank that fit perfectly into the trailer they have and they’ve been able to haul water to 10 different homes.

The Hills have 5 children: Sara (5/27/88), Amy (3/25/91), Paul (10/18/92), Mark (7/19/95) and Laura (5/16/97).

Trevor & Betsy Holloway

Entrusted Word Ministries, Peru

The Holloway family has deep roots with Chapelstreet Church with Betsy growing up in the church from infancy through college. Trevor received his master’s degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and served in pastoral ministry for seven years before taking a staff position at a missionary training school for two years.

They have been serving on the mission field since 2015 where Trevor trains pastors and leaders through the biblical training institute he founded and directs, speaking at conferences, putting on workshops, and a variety of other formats. Aside from working in the home, Betsy is passionate about mentoring and discipling younger women.

The Holloways’ vision for ministry is two-fold: 1) to equip Peruvian pastors, leaders, and missionaries to make disciples and plant churches among the unreached in Peru and 2) to strengthen the Peruvian church by entrusting biblically sound teaching to faithful men who teach others also. They have five children: Ethan, Titus, Nora, Ellie, and Jill.

Ed & Jan Kotynski

Wycliffe, Indonesia

Ed and Jan are linguists working with Wycliffe Bible Translators and have spent many years living on the island of Hope in SE Asia, with the T people. They learned the language of this jungle people, and have helped translate the New Testament into their language. Now based in the US and working via internet/satellite connection, they continue to work with the T people and 3 other language groups to translate the Old Testament into their languages. They are being asked to find ways to help national teams begin translation in the surrounding language groups and have recently begun working with 3 languages on their New Testament. Ed and Jan help teams prepare to have their translated Scripture checked and approved in languages of SE Asia. A deeper understanding of the newly translated Scriptures in these believers’ own languages, has resulted in their own cultural expressions and songs of worship, along with an exciting growth in their life in Christ and one another. Ed and Jan experience a family relationship with many of these SE Asian friends, and also have two children and eight grandchildren of their own.

Daniel & Stephanie Lim

Operation Mobilization

Daniel Lim and family are based in Geneva, Illinois and serve with Inspiro Arts Alliance; a branch of OM that fosters vibrant communities of Christ followers amongst the least reached using the arts. His role as an Artist Mentor is to firstly participate as an artist musician, and secondly resource and guide other artists in the global church to join the mission.

As an artist, he writes and composes music as Daniel and the Sparrows, while also collaborating with global partners in their outreach to the lost (for example, scoring music for an Arabic translation of the play: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, to be used in North Africa to reach out to Muslims). As a mentor, he hosts songwriter and music creator residencies for musicians around the world, while also teaching audio engineering and studio set-up for partnering ministries.

Chris & Elizabeth McKinney

CRU CITY, Missouri

Elizabeth grew up at Chapelstreet Church! She went to college at Miami University of Ohio and became involved with Cru there. As she grew spiritually, God gave her a heart for the lost and worldly young women and a desire to help them come to know and follow Christ.

Chris was born and raised in Kansas and is a 2nd generation Campus Crusade staff person. When he was 10 years old, he and his family moved to Budapest, Hungary, where his parents were the national directors of the Cru ministry. When it was time to attend college, Chris returned to Kansas State University where he studied business and leadership. While at Kansas State, God called him to influence college students, especially fraternity men, for Christ.

Chris received his MDiv from Covenant Seminary and together they have served with Cru for over twenty years. Seventeen of those years were on college campuses such was Miami of Ohio, Macedonia, Butler University and the University of Missouri. They currently serve with Cru City, training churches, ministries and believers to live missionally in their neighborhoods. Together, they wrote Placed for a Purpose: A Simple and Sustainable Vision for Loving Your Next-Door Neighbors with the hopes of bringing the gospel to neighborhoods everywhere through winsome, loving & intentional relationships.

Chris and Elizabeth live in Columbia, Missouri, with their four daughters: Ginger (13), Pearl (11), June (9) and Annabelle (8).

Martha Newton

Rafiki, Rwanda

Martha learned about the Rafiki Foundation while attending BSF. The Lord had already been building in her a desire to work with orphans. After looking into Rafiki and what they do, Martha knew this is the organization she wanted to work with. Rafiki works in ten African countries and Martha serves in Rwanda.

Martha is responsible for the boarding students who live at the school which involves providing clothing, disciplining, arranging for students to receive medical, dental and vision care as needed and so much more. She facilitates the training for the Rafiki mothers as well as their weekly Bible study. Martha also facilitates the RICE (Rafiki Institute of Classical Education) program for the Rafiki mothers who are studying to become classically trained preschool teachers.

Josh & Julie Parr

Navigators, Illinois

Josh and Julie met as student-athletes (baseball and soccer) at the University of Illinois and were married in December of 2012. Throughout their marriage the Lord has challenged them both to walk closer with Him & pursue whatever He lays in front of them in an effort to advance the Kingdom and help equip others to labor as well. First that happened in collegiate and professional sports, then on staff with The Navigators at U of I, and in 2023 they joined staff with Illini Land FCA to continue to labor at their alma mater.

Lord willing, they want to see Illini athletes and coaches come to know Jesus and equip them to labor for the Kingdom on their teams, in the community, and for the rest of their lives wherever God takes them. As former collegiate and professional athletes themselves they know the platform and influence these athletes have and are excited to see what God will do in and through the diverse group of student-athletes and coaches at the U of I.

They are so grateful for this partnership with Chapelstreet Church!

Jim & Kappy Robinette

Mission Africa with Commission to Every Nation

Our mission statement

Mission Africa and Mission East Africa (Uganda) exists as a Gospel ministry to administer God’s word and to encourage, establish and train Africans in ministries of compassion, primarily to the urban poor and in church planting, while proclaiming and living out God’s truth.

Our core values

  • the supremacy and sovereignty of God over all things.
  • the reformation of churches in doctrine and method.
  • God-centered evangelism and discipleship.
  • Christo-centric preaching.
  • the unction of the Spirit on the proclamation of the truth.
  • obedience to Christ’s directive that we show mercy and compassionate care to the poor and needy (Matthew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”).
  • the training, strengthening and encouraging of African churches for the furtherance of the Gospel.

Our mission statement is accomplished

  • through teaching and preaching of God’s word.
  • through the training, counseling and mentoring of church leaders.
  • through the establishment of and training in ministries of mercy (compassionate outreach).
  • through the encouragement of Africans to establish and maintain biblically sound churches and biblically based compassionate outreaches.

Mission East Africa (Uganda)

Bryan & Rachel Smith

Wycliffe, Cameroon

Bryan and Rachel first served in Tanzania as language surveyors assessing the language situation in different areas of the country through gathering, recording, and analyzing linguistic data. Survey is an essential step in the Bible translation process. Since 2010, Bryan has served in a support role, teaching History, Geography, some Bible and English at Christian International schools, first in Tanzania, and now a new assignment in Cameroon at Rain Forest International School in Yaounde. This ministry serves children of Wycliffe families involved in both translation and various other support roles. Teaching at Rain Forest is an opportunity to have a spiritual and educational impact on the next generation of cross-cultural students. Bryan and Rachel are passionate about integrating Biblical truth into the classroom and seeing students grow in or too Christian faith.

Matt & Sarah Titus

TEAM, Czech Republic

Matthew and Sara Titus work with TEAM in Prague, Czech Republic and do church planting, leadership development, discipleship, and evangelism. They have worked with 3 different church plants and are currently with the Network Prague plant that is downtown Prague. This church is specifically targeting young adults who are working in the city. Please pray that this church would be a light to Prague, which is a very dark spiritual city (less than 1% evangelical Christians). Please pray for Matthew as he preaches and works with the leadership of TEAM missionaries in the Czech Republic, and for both Matthew and Sara as they train up and disciple young believers, and reach out to our neighbors and unreached in Prague.

Izabela, Samuel, Lucie, Evangeline, Theodor, and Victoria are doing great in the Czech language and schools and we are very thankful they have Czech friends. Please pray for God’s protection over them.

Alys West

New International, Ukraine

Alys followed God’s lead to serve in southern Ukraine, full-time in July of 2008. The focus of Alys’ work from the beginning has been to embrace orphans with mental and physical disabilities, helping them to know they are valued and loved, providing a way for them to engage in community and nurturing them in Biblical principles so that they might come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and have a personal relationship with Him.

The goals expanded as truPROMISE/PROMISE was established in 2014, beginning the stages to establish Christ centered group homes for the forgotten young folks of a society, one that sees little value in them. A team began to form and our efforts in the region of Kherson to help provide social services to orphans with special needs began opening doors to their freedom by allowing these young people to begin to make decisions for themselves. This has enabled them to try something new, something they’ve only dreamed of doing in a Christ-centered atmosphere where they know they are safe and loved. Stephen’s Home is the first group home that is now up and running, despite the chaos of war.

Joel & Barbara Wright

Converge, International Ministries

The Wrights have served in Brazil for over two decades largely through theological education, church planting, leadership development and evangelism.

Currently, four Brazilian churches in the U.S. (Chicago, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Boston, San Diego) are within Converge Worldwide, with other churches nationally in various stages of development and/or affiliation. The Brazilian churches are furthermore engaged in mission projects among difficult access and unreached people groups.
