Empowering families through homeownership
Changing the community
The Neighbor Project (formerly Emmanuel House) is empowering working-class families in Aurora through homeownership. Chapelstreet Church currently sponsors Bryan House, a five-unit building where families in the Neighbor Project’s homeownership program live and save their rent in an account to be used as a down payment on their first home. There are many on-site projects at Bryan House needing volunteers throughout the year, including maintenance, landscaping, cleaning, etc., as well as the opportunity for relationship-building. For a couple or individuals, there is the option of being a mentor partner, helping families learn how to do general upkeep on their home and navigate homeownership.
