Distracted: Technology’s Influence on Spiritual, Academic and Relational Health
Dr. Chris Mazzarella
Today’s children are growing up immersed in the digital world. Often referred to as “digital natives,” kids today engage in various forms of media, often in tension with their parents who remember growing up with social activities. What are the ways digital media shapes the hearts, minds, and souls of our teens? Dr. Chris Mazzarella, a clinical psychologist and father of three, will pull from the latest research to explain how technology can be beneficial to those preparing for careers in the 21st century but still poses dangers for those who remain uninformed.
Dr. Mazzarella is one of the owners of Heritage Professional Associates, a large behavioral health practice in the Chicagoland area. He is a general practitioner providing individual, couples, and group psychotherapy with adolescents and adults. Dr. Mazzarella is a Certified Group Psychotherapist and is also Certified in Primary Care Behavioral Health through the University of Massachusetts. He enjoys speaking to local schools, churches, and community groups on a variety of mental health topics.
