How to Effectively Communicate with Your Teen
Somehow adolescence whittles down a kid’s vocabulary to one-word answers, grunts and groans. But we don’t have to settle for this. All the words, thoughts, feelings and ideas are still inside those precious heads and with the right approach, loving parents can draw their son or daughter into meaningful and memorable conversations. The best news is that God wrote the book on it roughly 3000 years ago and the wisdom is still good today in the teen-world of glowing screens and drama queens.
Pete Sutton and his wife Jocelyn live in St. Charles and have seven kids, ages 7-27. They have a passion for kids in need and have spent the majority of their parenting years as a foster family. Pete currently serves The Compass Church in Naperville, IL as the Pastor of Student Ministry where he is building on over two decades of youth ministry experience to empower faith families and households to teach young people how to walk with Jesus and his church for a lifetime. In addition to pastoring, Pete has taught in the Christian Ministries track at North Park University, written curriculum for David C Cook, and spoken at various camps and conferences around the Midwest.
