A Teen’s Reality: Understanding and Dealing with the Peer Pressure Our Teens Face

Sterling Moore

We know as parents peer pressure is always there, but what does peer pressure look like in 2022?  One of the few remaining constants in the life of an average teenager today is change – including the way students experience and respond to peer pressure.  Changes in our world today have drastically altered how students perceive peer pressure and the weight that it places on them.  The desire and pressure to “fit in”, conform, and be accepted can be overwhelming.  Peer pressure can have a significant impact on their sense of identity, their ability to have healthy relationships and their experience of faith.  How do we strengthen our teens to withstand and respond to peer pressure on a daily basis and remain true to who God created them to be?

Join us as we consider our roles as parents for preparing our teens to live in a world that is very different from the one that we navigated when we were their age.  Chapelstreet Church’s Pastor Sterling Moore will be sharing with us his insight and experience from his many years as a youth pastor as well as being a father himself.  He and his wife, Sherry, have been married since 1998 and are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters: Emma, Lainey and Naomi.  Pastor Sterling will offer an important window into the peer pressure your teen is facing and hope to help them stand firm and confident in their faith.
