Cheer & Serve for Marklund’s
Annual Run, Walk & Roll 5K

We have the opporunity to love our neighbors of our recently launched campus neighborhood of Mill Creek.  We have a special relationship with Marklund, and they are hosting their fall Run, Walk and Roll on October 22.  Marklund is a nonprofit organization that serves infants, children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs.

Some of the nearly 700 runners maybe Marklund residents who are running, walking, in wheelchairs or other adaptive devices.  We want to put together a Chapelstreet Church team of volunteers to love our neighbors by serving hot chocolate and cheering on the participants.  This is a great local serving event for individuals, couples and families!

There are many volunteer positions available.  All volunteers should arrive at Marklund at 6:30 AM.

Course Volunteers:  provide support, encouragement, and direction by lining the course route.  These volunteers will be transported to their spot on the course and can head back after the ambulance passes.

Food & Beverage Volunteers:  Assist Marklund Special Events Director in the food tent by setting up the food, keeping track of emptry trays, and keeping the area clean.  This role also includes tear down of supplies.

Parking Lot Guides:  Direct cars to open lots, notifiy cars when lots are full, and guide the flow of traffic in the lot you are assigned to.

Course Marshals:  Stationed at important intersections along the route that are blocked to traffic.  Signal and guide runners to keep them safe on the course while making sure no cars enter the course.  (Adults preferred for this role)
